Soup for the Soul
Wednesdays During Lent
March 13-April 17, 2019
12:00 pm

Every Lenten season our church offering of “Food for the Soul” transitions to “Soup for the Soul” to recognize that Lent is more somber, and we try to do with less. We will have weekly services each Wednesday at 12:00 pm noon. There will be a half hour service of Lenten hymns, prayer and meditation/readings, followed by a soup lunch. People from John Wesley and visiting pastors will be participating. Remember, we seek to provide fellowship, and not only feeding the “soul” but feeding the “body” as well.

Soup for the Soul Lenten Series Speakers:

  • March 13 – Mel Trott
  • March 20 – Sally Miller, Falmouth Hospital Chaplain
  • March 27 – Rev. Will Mebane, St. Barnabas (Falmouth)
  • April 3 – Rev. Deborah Warner, Church of the Messiah (Woods Hole)
  • April 10 – Rev. Jan Smith-Rushton, retired Methodist minister
  • April 17 – Holy Week – John Wesley Members

Women Teen Challenge Worship
Sunday, March 24, 2019
8:30 & 10:30 am Services
Chapel & Sanctuary

Studies have recently shown that increased rates of alcohol addiction is greatest among women. Teen Challenge Rhode Island Women’s Choir – is coming to John Wesley United Methodist Church Sunday, March 24th for both services (8:30 and 10:30 am).

Teen Challenge is a Christian based organization that offers Christ-centered, faith-based solutions for youth, adults and families dealing with substance abuse problems. They offer long term recovery programs that focus on the power of the Holy Spirit and the teachings of Christ to provide a life-long commitment to sobriety.

During our worship services, they will offer song and testimony to the power and grace of how Christ is at work in their lives. This will be an exciting program and all are welcome and encouraged to attend. A free will offering will be taken (if you would like to give a check, make it payable to JWUMC with “Teen Challenge” on the memo line). Looking forward to worship and celebrate with you all!
