Spiritual Growth

John Wesley offers many ways to strengthen your faith. Whether it is through a specific topical study, a weekly discussion group or one time event, John Wesley always strives for its congregation to grow spiritually.

Adult Sunday School
Sunday School is meeting on Monday Evening for a Summer Bible Study:
We have a new opportunity for you – a Mediterranean Summer Vacation! Travel with the Lintons through ancient Mediterranean lands via your Bible, all in the comfort of your own home! With the changing Sunday morning Worship schedule, Sunday Morning Online Bible Study is now combining with Monday Evening Online Bible Study for the rest of the summer. Use the online portal Zoom on any computer or smart-phone to join us at 7 p.m. Monday evenings. To keep it simple, we’ll study the Bible passages in each week’s Lectionary -the traditional passages assigned for each week in the liturgical year. Contact Jenn Linton (jennifer.v.linton@gmail.com) to be added to the email list so you receive each week’s Zoom link and the Bible passages to read. (Zoom is a free, easy-to-use online application that can be used on any computer, smart phone, or tablet.)

Small Group Study
There are numerous small groups, depending on day and time of the week that focus on a specific topic, book in the Bible or character.

Men’s Breakfast
Once we are able to meet again, all men are welcome and invited to share in breakfast and discussion with one another on the third Tuesday of each month. The group meets at the church from 7:30 – 8:45 am. Facilitated by John Mincieli, this informal discussion is based on one of Pastor Rebecca’s sermons.  There is no charge for breakfast, but donations are gratefully accepted.

Spiritual Retreats
These are half-day opportunities throughout the year where we gather for worship, discussion groups and fellowship to further our growth in community and in dialogue.
