Valentine’s Day Dance Recap!
Although it was close to zero degrees, children, families and couples came together to celebrate Valentine’s Day at John Wesley on Saturday, February 13th. When you walked into the Fellowship Hall, you couldn’t help but pause and look around. Christmas lights covered the walls, balloons danced in the air and the anticipation what songs the DJ would play were swirling in everyone’s minds. Savory smells of pizza filled the air as the different pizza boxes were blanked on the tables. Everyone jumped in, got their fill and then hit the dance floor!
While couples, children and individuals were boogieing on the dance floor, others hung out in the Narthex where one could make handmade cards, origami, color or do brain teasers. Still, others just enjoyed watching from the comfort of their table and talking with others. About half way through the dance, it was time for some door prizes…and there were tons of them! Both adults and children were able to choose a prize of their choice and walk about happy. The music started again and that’s when songs such as the Cupid Shuffle, the YMCA, the Hokey Pokey and even a Conga Line formed! Thank goodness the sweets were located so close to the dance floor, it was nice being able to grab one of your favorite desserts while dancing!
The Valentine’s Day Dance was a special time where the young and young at heart were able to come together and have fun while building relationships with one another. Thank you so much to all those who helped plan this beautiful event and who attended on such a chilly evening! To view more pictures of the night, click here. We hope to see you next year!
